Tiny Park is a collaboration with Sonny Ward of June Street Architecture for the City of West Hollywood. As part of the city’s pilot program for pocket parks, it tests the use of marginal tree lawn spaces throughout this city. This temporary installation, sited on a corner adjacent to fast-food restaurants, provides short-term seating. These cubes, reminiscent of children’s blocks, are illustrated with graphics including a chess board, plates, and phrases. These casually places elements may be re-positioned as needed. They offer a modest amenity with suggestions for greater impact in the city.
