The Studio
UrbanRock Design has been in business since May 2000. Jeanine Centuori, FAIA, and Russell Rock, artist have completed many projects together and have a successful track record with many satisfied clients and communities. As an award-winning studio and certified Woman-Owned | Small Business, both Russell and Jeanine are accomplished artists and designers with many completed projects around the United States. The studio is located at the Brewery Arts Complex, near downtown Los Angeles. This hub of creative entrepreneurs fuels the energy and inspiration of the studio.
UrbanRock Design is focused on site-specific art and design projects for communities. Drawing from the disciplines of art and architecture, the studio engages with a variety of art and design projects in the public domain, and architecture projects for communities and individuals. The studio is practiced in bringing projects from concept through to completion and installation in concert with stakeholders and clients. Project scopes include: robust research finding relevant themes and initial criteria, concept development with stakeholder input, design development including detailed drawings with engineering, and installation in coordination with contractors. This process has been tested in the studio with many art and design projects in urban centers around the United States.
UrbanRock Design is involved intermittently in the production process, and also works closely with local fabricators. This allows the studio to embrace an expanded palette of materials and processes with state-of-the-art equipment and technologies. Fabricators have included digital-makers, concrete tradespersons, glaziers, welders, electricians, sign installers, and general contractors. We typically interface with tradespeople, contractors, and consulting professionals alike. The studio has a successful track record of urban-sited and integrated public artworks in multiple cities with municipal, non-profit, and private clients. We have strong ability to manage budgets, and the fabrication/installation process in a professional manner. We have successfully participated on design teams with several professionals. Together, we have completed architecturally-integrated projects situated in public parks, transit stations, building facades, and urban plaza spaces.
