UrbanRock Design House

Site: Mount Washington, Los Angeles, CA

This house design for an uphill site proposes an interlocking set of volumes that take advantage of the steep hillside.  Open space is used to maximize living space within the strictures of the Mount Washington/Glassell Park Specific Plan.  This minimal design uses exposed steel elements and hard-edged spaces.  The house has a rooftop deck with canyon views, an elevator, and a swimming pool whose concrete form contributes to the structural system of the house.
