Aligned to create a face for the void, Slim Stores address the unbounded edges of parking lots. The undescribed seam becomes an active business incubator area. Panels unfold from book-like walls to create seating and four kinds of vending: cooking, clothing, two dimensional art work, and objects. Seating elements provide the structural anchor for the system. Movable panels span the space between chair panels. When the Slim Stores are closed, they still define the space. Established local businesses earn tile work recognition on the ground plane by contributing a Slim Store.
