Now & Then

Site: Juanita Beach Park, Kirkland, WA

Artists: Jeanine Centuori and Russell Rock

Client: Public Works, Kirkland

Now & Then references the site’s previous use in Kirkland’s lumber industry while also providing playful seating.  Massive timbers are fashioned into sculptural benches.  Three pieces align to form a set, and also hold metallic plates with images referencing the inner workings of the former lumber industry.  A series of companion metallic discs are sprinkled along the park beach causeway showcasing the history of the park itself.  This collection of vignettes presents historical views of recreation at the Juanita Beach Park.
