DSTM, Inc. and LeBasse Projects International, LLC working with the City of Santa Monica, CA have selected UrbanRock Design to be participating artists in ROAM Santa Monica, a rotating public art program in Downtown Santa Monica. Look for an temporary installation along the 3rd Street Promenade from January 2018 until March 2018.
The City of Calgary, AB has refined the scope of the new Green Line transit project. Funding is in place for the construction of Phase 1 of the line, running from 16 Ave N to 126 Ave S/Shepard. UrbanRock Design’s Public Art Master Plan will develop recommendations for the Calgary Public Art Program along this run of the line, as well as, the future extensions to the north and south. This cohesive document will serve as a guide in the Calls For Artists and provide explanatory pieces concerning the research, input, and criteria utilized in crafting the recommendations. This will be a refinement and reconciliation of the previous work UrbanRock Design has done on the Green Line PAMP.
The City of Kirkland, WA has awarded UrbanRock Design the commission to create public artworks in three of the City’s parks- Juanita Beach Park, Edith Moulton Park, and Waverly Beach Park. The sculptural pieces will seek to have site-specific references while creating a suite of works. The design phase is expected to commence in a few weeks, with installations coordinated with the City’s construction schedules.
