Formation is sited along a hiking trail system in Coldwater Canyon Park.  It serves as a retaining wall made with gabion cages filled with material from the excavation.  The piece doubles as a demonstration of the natural forms of rock- igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic.  These conditions are demonstrated with 3 concrete sculptures illustrating their formations.
