Arleta Recuperative Care Center

Site: Los Angeles, CA

Designers: Jeanine Centuori and Cate Roman

Client: National Health Foundation

Photographer:  Monica Nouwens

This recuperative care center, located in the Arleta neighborhood of Los Angeles, provides temporary housing and social services to seniors experiencing homelessness. The strategy for integrated artwork and environmental graphics is to enhance the facility with a vibrant color palette and uplifting spirit. A series of window-like artworks of nature scenes line the long hallways to provide episodic  glimpses of the outside world. Bold graphics on guest room doors and way-finding signage throughout assist with navigating the large facility.
